AMS Group Case Study
SharePoint Online and SharePoint On-Premises are different, and they have their own set of features and functionalities. The main purpose of SharePoint is to help users sharing information within the organization or outside it by creating portals, document libraries, lists etc.
For over three decades, AMS Group has been delivering innovative technologies and equipment with a full range of integrated logistics support services to the USA and international customers, specifically in the defense and security markets.
Formerly AMS Group was using SharePoint On-Premises and wanted to shift to SharePoint Online. The main reason was that the availability of the latest versions was only in 3 years, and the most current update was 1st available on SharePoint Online. Moreover, the cost structure was proving ineffective. Also, their SharePoint On-Premises did not support any application for leave management. HR team of AMS Group would have to completely reply to excel files and email processes for leave management.
Our experts assisted AMS Group in a smooth transition from SharePoint On-Premises to SharePoint Online in two phases:
Also developed an automated Leave Management application using Power Apps.
Upon shifting to SharePoint Online, AMS Group now stays ahead with all Microsoft’s latest updates and features. Data security capabilities have been enhanced, and database management has become more organized. Their landing page now contains news, document storage, social profiles, email content, everything in one place without going to Outlook. Every department now has separate categories, and under them, there are subcategories to choose from in the drop-down list.
The look and feel of their Intranet sites now match their corporate theme with custom branding.
Process of Leave Management got streamlined with an automated leave management application built using Power Apps. Having an automated application in place, AMS Group can now maintain all the information related to leave management in one place. This automation streamlined their internal leave management process to apply for leave, select the manager, and have everything in the records.
