Legacy Parking Case Study

Legacy Parking’s Move from On-Premises to Online SharePoint for Effective Intranet Facilities

Legacy Park

Legacy Parking began with a vision to deliver premium offerings and a new management experience to parking for commercial real estate. Additionally, the organization is committed to developing, implementing, and advancing Alternative Transportation Solutions and Green Initiatives related to the parking and transportation industry.

Problems Legacy Park Faced with On-Premises SharePoint

Previously, Legacy Parking was using SharePoint On-Premises and wanted to shift to SharePoint Online. The principal reason for moving to SharePoint Online was a poor collaboration between its 120 facilities. Documentation for 120 facilities was tedious and maintaining access levels for different facilities/departments was another challenge. Additionally, the most recent updates were first available on SharePoint Online, and the cost was proving ineffective. They were heavily dependent on Excel files and email processes for any collaboration.

Our Role in Transitioning Them to the Online SharePoint Platform

Our certified consultants made a smooth transition from SharePoint On-Premises to SharePoint Online for Legacy Parking and revamped their intranet’s entire look and feel. Created organizational chart and staff directories and segregated the existing data into categories and subcategories for respective facilities with precise permission management settings.

How Did Online SharePoint Change the Way They Did Business

Shifting to SharePoint Online proved to be a good decision for Legacy Parking.

  • With all the latest updates and features from Microsoft, they enjoy and utilize their team’s full potential. SharePoint, acting as a backend database, improved data management multiple times with explicit permission management settings.
  • The documentation process was now better and more organized, with archiving functionality.
  • Every facility now has its own dedicated document location, and every department has its own section.
  • The look and feel of their intranet sites now match their corporate theme with custom branding.
  • Organizational charts and staff directories provide complete information on whom to reach out to and how to reach out.

Having all the data under one umbrella increased the overall efficiency and saved much time concerning collaboration.
