SharePoint Intranet Migration and Customization Case Study

Customer Background and History

The Customer is a non-profit organization that offers loan programs to small businesses across the U.S.

Their Problem

The Customer leveraged a SharePoint 2007 and 2010-based internal portal that hosted dozens of sites. The decision was made to upgrade the portal to the latest version of the platform (SharePoint 2013) and gather scattered web apps and build a unique interface for the site.

Our Solution

Evolvous initiated the project by establishing a precise plan to ensure speedy and flexible migration of the existing information without compromising the business operations.

There were two steps to the migration process. The Customer’s sites running on SharePoint 2007 were transferred to SharePoint 2010 to ensure the portal’s homogeneity. The full site collection was then transferred from SharePoint 2010 to SharePoint 2013. Our team consolidated all the previously dispersed functionality across numerous distinct web applications to provide simpler navigation and a better user experience.

After completing the primary structural adjustments, SharePoint specialists began developing the portal’s user interface. Our team produced a new master page that adhered to the Customer’s brand guidelines and different headers such as a calendar, corporate news, a slider and links to other corporate systems.

The Impact

The migration of the portal was carried out following the strategy with no disruption to the Customer’s business operations or user activity. The new portal’s easy navigation and appealing appearance have contributed to increased productivity and time savings in the workplace.
