It is essential that you migrate completely from your earlier environment to this new one. Microsoft has a great offer for your business to move from on-premises SharePoint 2010 to SharePoint Online.

    What is SharePoint Online?

SharePoint is hosted by Microsoft Office 365. It is a web-based office productivity service that supplies your organization’s cloud storage, collaboration, and features. SharePoint On-Premises vs SharePoint Online

SharePoint is a powerful tool for collaboration, and it’s also not always cheap, which can make it tough to figure out which version of SharePoint is best for your organization. If you’re considering switching from on-premises to the cloud, or vice versa, some key differences will help you decide whether moving forward with your current solution is worth the investment.

The choice between SharePoint On-Premises and SharePoint Online is a difficult one. Both solutions supply similar benefits, but they offer those benefits in diverse ways. To help you decide which solution works best for your business, we’ve compiled a list of the top three differences of each choice:

    • On-premises is that to run the on-premises version, you’ll need an IT team to support the server to install updates and patches. This means more people and hardware. With the online version, your internal resources are reduced.
    • SharePoint On-Premises is when your local IT gurus manage SharePoint in your company data center. SharePoint Online is when Microsoft manages SharePoint in their data centers, and you access it over the Internet.
    • On-Premises requires a license for each server and CAL (Standard or Enterprise) for each user. SharePoint Online is included in office 365 Business or Enterprise License.
